HOW TO MAKE A WACKY DUCT TAPE WALLET

Lately, I have been watching a bunch of videos on how to make duct tape wallets on YOUTUBE. Watching these videos inspired me to review just how simple they make it look. So, I decided to give it a try and make a duct tape wallet for my older brother.

You will need:

1. (1)DUCKTAPE brand duct tape in size 1.88in x 10 yards (any design)
2. (1) 12 inch ruler
3. (1) pair of child size scissors
4. (1) Sharpie Fine Point pen (black)

Step one:


 

Buy DUCKTAPE in any design. I bought mine at Michaels in the Phinesas and Ferb design by Disney.

 

 



I like this design because it's colorful but plain duck tape in other colors like silver, red, blue and purple will work too. It's all about your personality. (Plus I'm only 8 years old people).


Step two:

 

 



Tear off a 12 inch strip of tape. You can use a ruler if you need to. Don't worry if it doesn't look perfect. You can always cut the edges later.


Step three:

 



Tear (3) more pieces of duct tape for a total of (4) pieces. You can use scissors if ripping them is too hard. Make sure your parent helps you if the scissors are too sharp.

Step four:

 

Connect each strip and make sure to overlap them a little as you connect.

 

 

Step five:

 

 



Tear (4) more 12 inch strips of duct tape and lay them on top of the others sticky side to sticky side. Make sure to over lap!

Step six:

Take your ruler and sharpie pen and make a line to help you cut off jagged edges.

Step seven:

 

Tear one 10 inch strip of duct tape and tear again down the middle creating one skinny strip of tape. Add the skinny strip to the longest edge, leaving room to fold.

 

 

 





Step eight:

 

Fold your wallet in half and set to the side. Placing a book on top of it helps hold the fold until your ready to finish.

 

 

Step nine:

 

 

Tear two 14 inch strips of duct tape and lay them on top of each other sticky side to sticky side. Take one strip of tape and tear straight down the middle and seal the longest edge, leaving room to fold over.

 

 

Step ten:

 

Use a credit card or any kind of card to measure out the pockets for your wallet. You can use your sharpie.

 

 

 

You should be able to make four pockets.

 

 

 

Step eleven:

 

 

Take your folded wallet and layer your pockets one on top of the other. Two on each side, leaving room in the middle fold.

 

 

Then tape the pocket edges closer to the middle.

 





 

 

Seal both outer edges with duct tape and fold over neatly.

 

 

Step twelve:

 

 

Add your favorite credit cards. (Don't tell my mom that I have her Old Navy card).

 

 

Or add a lucky dollar.

 

 

 

My final thoughts:

My DUCTTAPE wallet looks great and it was little bit easy and a little bit hard but I think it will be a great project for other kids to try at least once. 

PS. My mom figured out that I was using her old navy card. Woops!!!
